Stan Booker is the Mayor of the City of Lawton, first elected in November 2018 and subsequently reelected. He is serving his final term, having been sworn in on January 13, 2025. Booker is a longtime Lawton resident and business owner with extensive involvement in civic and community organizations.

Professional Background

Stan Booker began his career working in the family grocery business and later spent five years with Safeway Stores, Inc.

At age 24, he relocated his family to Marlow, Oklahoma, where he purchased his first business, the Hop and Sack Convenience Store. He later expanded to operate six convenience stores and went on to open Super Video Stores.

In 2004, Booker divested from retail operations to focus exclusively on commercial real estate and returned to Lawton. Leadership of the family investment business later transitioned to his son, allowing Booker to devote more time to civic engagement.

  • Founder, Lawton Rotary Leadership Institute (2015)
    • Served as first chairman
    • Program grew from approximately 300 attendees to more than 1,300 participants annually

Booker has long encouraged community involvement and volunteerism, emphasizing civic engagement as a foundation of strong local governance.

Health & Advocacy

After experiencing progressive hearing loss, Booker received cochlear implants in May 2015, restoring his ability to communicate effectively. Following this, he expanded his civic leadership efforts, including the creation of the Lawton Rotary Leadership Institute.

Personal

Stan Booker married his high school sweetheart in 1975. He has one son, Brian, who is married to Allison, and two granddaughters.
